Theme of the Paris tour:

It’s all about good, light-hearted fun. We’ll see some of the big attractions, but we’re more focused on having our own creative entertainment and hands-on local experience near these monuments.

You’ll see that some of our activities are more standard visits – Paris is an incredible city, so whether you’ve been before or not, attractions like the Eiffel Tower could never get old.

And then you might also notice differences like finger painting and crab walking! That’s because for us at Making Travel Happen, it is more than just going to a new place. It’s connecting with your inner frolicker and explorer to unleash more creativity and joy.

And oh, and I’m so excited to announce you’ll be making and devouring your very own French pastry (that sure does excite me!)

Here’s the basic itinerary:

Day 1Eiffel Tower

Arrive, settle in, explore, have a get-to-know each other lunch. Our evening plans are flexible, as there’s jet lag to knock out and a whole city to say hello to. We’ll take on the town together with some sweet surprises in store.

Day 2

Today is our play date – where we disregard the overhype of being a “serious adult” and let loose to compete as kids at the gym. We’ll be cartwheeling, crab walking and more, right at the Eiffel Tower. Then we’ll head up the icon of the city for a snack and lovely views. Our dinner  is a wholesome home cooked meal hosted by Parisian  locals where we’ll get insight on the real Paris, chat, laugh.

Day 3

Art gallery day – audience vote! Shall we head to the Louvre? Musee d’Orsay? So many options! But we’ll just pick one to get the most time out of it, and then save space in the day for fingerpainting in the Jardin des Tuileries. Yep, it’s true. What masterpiece will you make with your built-in paint brush after seeing art in the museums? A picnic lunch is included on this day. Next up, time to explore wherever your heart desires. We’ll offer suggestions but you lead the way.

Day 4

Day trip – We’ll head to Barbizon to see where the entire impressionist painting movement began and also see a chateau so beautiful that it inspired the construction and design of Versailles (through the king’s sheer jealousy of just how pretty this place was!). Lunch, tours, strolls are all a part of this day.

Day 5

Let your inner wanderer take you anywhere you feel like going and see what hidden gems you find. It’s what we like to call prescribed “get lost” time. Where will you wander today? Perhaps the Marais, perhaps Bastille or along the Seine…it’s your call! Then we’ll join up for a patisserie baking class – we’re making classic Parisian tarts! Evening entertainment is brought to you by the convivial vibe of the Latin Quarter.

Day 6

Have a sensory experience by tapping into all five senses. This includes music, flavors, delightful smells…you get the gist. Locations include perfume shops, local markets and more. The evening send-off to the city will take place on a Seine river cruise.

Day 7

Yummy breakfast, time to bid adieu and prepare for your flight home.
